A more mindful behavior management solution

If you’re curious about how breath, movement, and mindfulness can impact student behavior, academic outcomes, and staff retention, you’ve come to the right place.

Reduce discipline referrals

By modeling mindfulness and providing safe spaces in classrooms to self-regulate, BeWell in School®’s programming helps students regulate their behavior in healthy ways.

Increase Time on Task

When students’ minds and bodies are in balance, they’re better able to attune to instruction and navigate emotions that could otherwise take away from or impact learning outcomes.

Support School Connection

BeWell in School®’s school-based mindfulness concepts give educators the tools they need to manage stress and create stronger classroom communities.

A mindful alternative to exclusionary discipline

Research shows that traditional discipline models are failing to meet the needs of today’s students and fueling the school-to-prison pipeline. At the same time, teachers and administrators need effective classroom management solutions that reflect the emotional reality of modern learning environments.

Enter BeWell in Schoo, a science-backed mindfulness program that helps young people learn to attend to their emotional needs and supports school leaders in rethinking their approach to discipline and school climate. The results? More time on task, fewer discipline referrals, reduced stress, and enhanced connection and belonging for the entire school community. In making mindfulness concepts more inclusive and accessible, BeWell in School®’s framework reduces student and staff stress and promotes school safety and connection for the entire school community.

Program Features:

Initial Assessment

The BeWell in School® Program starts with a thorough assessment to determine what types of support your school needs. Our team will ask you about your current strengths and challenges and we’ll work together to brainstorm solutions for your students and staff.

The BeWell Teacher

Your BeWell Teacher is a full-time, on-site resource for students, staff, and families. They will be there each day to help your school integrate the program and model effective emotional regulation and mindfulness techniques.

The BeWell Room

We work with schools to set up a designated BeWell Room™, which serves as a space for students and teachers to dive deep into movement, mindfulness, and breathing techniques with the BeWell Teacher’s support. In addition, the BeWell Teacher provides resources and support to help staff create designated safe spaces for self-regulation in classrooms and throughout the school building.

Emotional support for students

Students can self-refer or be referred by a teacher to the BeWell Room™ for a check-in with the BeWell Teacher. This break allows students the space to regulate and consider how they’re feeling and how to move forward in a productive way. This 1:1 support for students improves test scores, boosts teacher morale, and reduces disciplinary referrals.

Professional development

Throughout the year, the BeWell Teacher leads professional development sessions for staff. During these sessions, staff learn about the power of the breath, strategies for disrupting negative thought patterns, as well as other mindfulness techniques they can use themselves and with their students.
